What are the legalities for eating domestic felines in the United States? sources plz ^_^?

There are 2 types of people in the world, ones that eat their pets and ones that dont. I grew up on a farm and we always ate our pets. There's no difference eating a pet steer or pig than eating a dog or cat. I dont think its illegal to eat dogs or cats as long as you treat them humanely.
