Waterproof bandage over stitches?
no, you don't touch it;; it's actually just as you said, an adhesive to protect the wound..you are not to touch it..even if they were steri's you allow them to fall off naturally, ya still don't touch them...the bath is to prevent you soaking that wound, or even the adhesive, & again, to protect the area from infection while it is in it's viable stage...showering, you should also prevent from soaking the area, so ya just don't sit there watching the water continuously flow over the site...leave the thing alone..they'll take care of it...ya also may just want to ask them to write down your instructions for taking care of this wound before you leave the office next wk..something about entering the room, them speaking, you trying to remember all the questions while trying to decipher their medical jargon, that leaves you speechless until ya get home..write down your questions..have them write down their treatment plan..& ever in doubt, you can always call them & ask..part of the plan of care...good luck!!
