Name for an American patriot superhero that has not been used yet ?

I have ideas for a comic book i making about a guy through tradgic and extraordinary events ends up a in an alternate deminsion that mirrors his except it is set in the 1940's and because he does not suppose to exist is capable of doing super human things seeing as how the world's laws do not pertain to him (By the world's laws i mean the laws of physics and so forth). Well he becomes a superhero for america in the time of WWI and thats when things go terribly wrong. I need a name for him, CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP, THANKS ! ! ! !
