Is the evolution vs creationism debate relevant elsewhere besides the US?
Interesting question. I can't answer for very many places, but I know in France there certainly isn't any of the debate we have. Thinking on it, I think I always umed this was due to the secularization of the country. As best I can describe it, in France you are welcome to your religion and many believe deeply. No one wants to hear about it, it is impolite in the extreme to talk about it all the time or even pretty much at all. In some ways very nice. One gets very tired of the religious opinion of he who is able to talk at the loudest volume and raise up the most wild-eyed fans getting their way all the time in a tyranny of the so-called religious right as was the norm I was accustomed to in the US. Then again, I admit I miss the entertainment of wild-eyed street corner evangelists such as were common in my Texas Bible-belt youth.
