Are the interests of the American public not focused?

We as Americans seem more concerned about Britney, and Lindsey than we are about more important concerns. Questions: The implications if Hillary is elected, and the futue of the US military under her administration? (2) The rising tension in the Middle East, and possible war with Iran and Syria? (3) If war were to break out, how would we in the US protest ourselves, if the US were attacked or invaded on our home soil?
